Making document workflow tangible for customers       

Specialist retailer Saueracker opens the first MPS theme park in Germany and shows exclusive UTAX solutions – official opening with UTAX partners and numerous business customers on 30 November 2012
Norderstedt, 07 December 2012. Last Friday, approximately 100 companies and over 120 visitors from the Nuremberg metropolitan area came to Nuremberg for the official opening of the new MPS theme park from UTAX specialist dealer Saueracker GmbH. The company, with a history spanning over 80 years, is repositioning itself in the business of office technology to meet its customers’ increased needs for “MPS” (Managed Print Services). In essence, this means practical software solutions in document management. At the same time, the business division has been renamed “Saueracker Document Solutions”. The specialist dealer is being supported in its new strategy by UTAX GmbH in particular. The supplier of printing and copying systems and software for document management, provided the MPS theme park exclusively with solutions and offered an advisory service.

More so than ever before, office technology retailers are faced with the challenge of preparing themselves for a future with declining hardware sales. This may be compensated by future-oriented concepts and the development of new business sectors. Saueracker GmbH, under the management of Birgit Holzmann, has therefore assigned Johannes B. Fleischmann, head of Document Solutions at Saueracker, to develop such concepts. “ The marketing of output systems is currently in a period of transition,” says Johannes B. Fleischmann. “As specialist dealers, we are close to our customers. Our philosophy is to test changes and market demands as early as possible regarding their sustainability. With MPS we help customers improve their document processing with software solutions, thereby also gaining very high customer loyalty. We are very pleased to have a user-oriented partner such as UTAX, who knows the specialist dealer business and who is supporting us sustainably during the development of this new business sector.”

An integral part of the strategy is the new MPS theme park in the showroom of Saueracker in Nuremberg, in which only UTAX solutions are presented. Presentations and information pillars provide information on the in-house MPS concept and further software solutions, which can be applied during implementation. Included are solutions for fleet management/accounting (UTAX aQrate/ UTAX smart), Secure Print (UTAX aQrate/ Prescribe), form management (UTAX Forms4Work), scanning (UTAX Scan2OCR powered by ABBYY) and Green IT. There are also applications demonstrated live.

“We want to make document workflow tangible for our customers at the MPS park through the integration of software,” says Johannes Fleischmann. “The implementation was only possible in such a short time because of our close contact with UTAX. Equally, the product portfolio is very well attuned to our needs as retailers and the demands of our customers. We can also rely on support from personnel if customer solutions become too complex. From our point of view, that is something we consider relevant.”

UTAX managing director, Christopher Rheidt also came to Nuremberg for the opening. “Saueracker has set its sights high with the MPS theme park and has set a path for specialist retail,” he said. “Naturally, as suppliers we support the sustainable corporate development of our specialist dealers, with both solutions and advice.”
